(Parksville, BC, January 10, 2011) Parksville resident, twenty-three-year-old Kris Connell, won the Parksville Downtown Business Association’s Christmas Contest. Mr. Connell is the new owner of a 50-inch Panasonic Viera Full High Definition 3D Plasma Television and Blu-Ray Player from Blue Door Audio Video. “I was overwhelmed when I got the call,” said Kris Connell. “I enter every contest I see, but I’ve never won anything before this. I entered this contest at Quiznos.”

The contest began November 18 and concluded December 24. The winning ballot was drawn by PDBA Board Member Michelle Jones. The contest was made possible by the participation of 110 businesses in Parksville Downtown.

“We were very pleased to have so many businesses get involved,” said PDBA President Anthony Veselisin. “We had close to 26,000 entries, which was a good indicator that people were shopping local this Christmas season. And, because we advertised Parksville Downtown and the contest in Port Alberni, Nanaimo and Courtenay, it may have helped bring shoppers into our community.”

In addition to wining some great hardware, Kris took home free 3D versions of Avatar and Ice Age provided by Blue Door Audio Video. ~
