Country Grocer to build store number seven

by Linda Tenney

Trying to eat local … but finding it difficult to source locally-raised meat products? Worry not! Country Grocer has announced its plans to build a second store in Nanaimo, its seventh on Vancouver Island. The new facility is scheduled to swing open its doors to the public in the late spring of 2012.

If you love to shop and eat local, Country Grocer offers a source of Island-raised meat products, including happy pig products from Tannadice Farms in Courtenay, fresh hormone-free beef from Natural Pastures Beef of Beaver Meadow Farms in Comox, and Island-grown chicken, processed and distributed by Farmhouse Poultry in the Cowichan Valley.

Here's where you can find fabulous locally-raised products right now…

Island-grown chicken from Farmhouse Poultry at Quality Foods in Nanaimo, Nanoose, Parksville, Qualicum, Port Alberni, Comox, and Campbell River.

Pork Products from Tannadice Farms in Courtenay can be found at the Butcher’s Block, Country Market, Brambles Market and Edible Island in Courtenay; and Country Grocer’s premier store in Nanaimo.
