"Population Trends in Oceanside & the Need for Two High Schools"
Talks To Save
Kwalikum Secondary School Continue ...
submitted by Kelly Wray, Lighthouse Country Kids Place, Bowser, BC
What would closing Kwalikum Secondary School (KSS) mean to you? What would it mean to your business in Lighthouse Country, namely the communities of Qualicum Bay, Bowser and Deep Bay? Will families want to reside in Lighthouse Country if it means their children will eventually be educated in Parksville? Where will those families stop to shop when picking up their children from school in Parksville? What impact will the closure have on your community?
Certainly questions to ponder and discuss, and the presentation on Monday January 17, 2011 is designed to provide a forum to address those concerns and others.
Although KSS is not in Lighthouse Country, it is the high school that most of our children attend for their secondary education.
We invite you to http://www.keepkss.com/ (courtesy of Qualicum's "Geeks on the Beach Website Development") to express your concerns, comment and make suggestions on the website and Facebook page maintained by the Keep KSS Steering Committee.
Please attend the presentation! Voice your concerns! Your input will be appreciated!
